SHPEP offers students a variety of academic and career experiences:
- Academic enrichment in the basic sciences and quantitative topics.
- Learning and study skills development, including methods of individual and group learning.
- Clinical exposure through small-group rotations in health care settings, simulation experiences, and seminars.
- Career development sessions are directed toward exploring the health professions, the admissions process, and developing an education plan.
- A financial literacy and planning workshop that informs students of financial principles and management strategies.
- A health policy seminar series to expose scholars to current health policy issues, the policymaking process and analysis, health care financing, and the social determinants of health.
- An introduction to interprofessional education that addresses effective collaboration across health professions.

No, there will be no cost at all to any participant selected to be part of SHPEP.
The SHPEP curriculum at SWAG视频 will be an intense, full-time program. Additionally, there will be evening and weekend events which participants will be required to attend. Students in the program will have little time for other activities such as holding a job or another project,
Yes, as long as you have not enrolled into a 4 year undergraduate university.
YES, but applicants cannot have more than 60 units at the time of the SHPEP application cycle. Advance Placement credits received during high school will not be factored into your credit count.
Students must be U.S. citizens, granted permanent residency, or have been granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
NO. This program is intended to enhance your preparation for medicine, dentistry, physical therapy and optometry 鈥� with potential exposure to other health professions. It is not a substitute for coursework.
