Since graduating from the California College of Podiatric Medicine, and completing her surgical residency program at the DVA-Greater Los Angeles and Olive View-UCLA Medical Center, Dr. Nouvong has trained in an interdisciplinary, academic environment. Prior to coming to Western University in 2009 as the founding Chair of the Department of Podiatric Medicine, Surgery, and Biomechanics, she was the Chief of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at the DVA Greater Los Angeles (DVA-GLA) and the Residency Director for the DVA-GLA and Olive View-UCLA. She continues to be actively involved with the Residency program, now as the Associate Residency Director, and is involved with students from other colleges of podiatric medicine, as the Externship Director. She accepted the position as the Assistant Dean for Clinical Affairs at CPM from 2010-2013. She is currently the Chair for the Department of Podiatric Surgery at the DVA-GLA and is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Vascular Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She has also recently joined the Council on Medical Education in 2013 as a Residency Site Evaluator. On her return back to the DVA-GLA she has become a member of the National Podiatry Field Advisory Committee. She is also the immediate past President for Division 1, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS). She currently serves on the Board of Directors, ACFAS.
