  • Narrative

    Dr. Sorweide is a graduate of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and did a Family Medicine residency at Dallas Southwest Medical Center. He began private practice in Grants Pass, Oregon in 1999. Dr. Sorweide is recognized as a Founder of COMP-NW and came to work there full time in 2012. He has been the director of Essentials of Clinical Medicine I,II,III,IV, and V. He was the director of cardiovascular medicine and the cardiovascular discipline lead from 2012 to 2018. He served on the Board of the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of Oregon for 15 years, eventually serving as President. He was named DO of the Year for Oregon in 2017. The Governor of Oregon appointed him to the Health Evidence Review Commission, with oversight on the Oregon Health Plan. Currently he serves as the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education for COMP-NW. He also serves as the advisor to the OPSO Club, the Wilderness Medicine Club, and the Military Medicine Student Association. On top of this he is the Command Surgeon for Medical Training and Readiness for the Army Reserve Medical Command and also serves on the Board of Governors for the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.
