    12/2006, 07/2007, 12/2007, 04/2008, 12/2008 Thirteen hours of a thirty hour course lectures covering topics of anatomy and physiology of optic nerve, mechanisms of glaucomatous damage, intraocular pressure, optic disc evaluation with imaging technology, an update on primary open angle glaucoma, epidemiology of glaucoma and ocular hypertension, update on ocular hypertension, normal tension glaucoma, secondary glaucoma and visual fields.

  • Narrative

    Dr. Pinakin Davey, is a tenured Professor and Director of Research at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Optometry. He received his Bachelor of Science in Optometry from the Elite School of Optometry, India (1999). He received his Ph.D. from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, England, in the area corneal measurements and its influence on glaucoma (2003). His post-doctoral research fellowship was on improving imaging techniques in glaucoma at the University of Louisville (2003-2006). He graduated with his Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry (2010). He is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and member of Optometric Glaucoma Society Dr. Davey鈥檚 primary research interests are in the area of glaucoma and ocular physiology, particularly improving diagnostic abilities and clinical management of patients.

    Dr. Davey has authored over 50 journal publications and book chapters, and has given over 200 conference and invited presentations both nationally and internationally. Dr. Davey is a reviewer for over 15 journals in the fields of ophthalmology, optometry and biomedical sciences.
