    Wendi Swanson is an Associate Professor in the Family Nurse Practitioner program in the College of Graduate Nursing (CGN).She also teaches in the MSN, MSN-E and DNP programs. Shereceived her BSN from San Diego State University in 1989. As an RN, she worked in critical care (CCRN) for 11 years at Palomar Medical Center andLomaLinda University Medical Center.In 2000 she graduated fromAzusaPacific University with her MSN and FNP. She has practiced as a Family Nurse Practitioner in primary care, college student health services and hospice.Wendi completed herDoctorof Nursing Practicein 2015. Her doctoral work focused onthe obesity epidemic and strategies to sustain improved sustained physical activity in college students. Dr. Swanson's passion continues in Clinical Prevention/Population Health and Lifestyle Medicine.Dr. Swanson is nationally certified with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She completed an Integrative Nurse Coach program and is a board-certified Nurse Coach. She has developed a nurse coaching program andis actively coaching withSWAGÊÓƵHealth at thePatient Care Center on campus.She maintains professional membership with American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau.Dr. Swanson is the 2020 Chair of the Global and Community Health Committee at CGN.
