As the year 2024 comes to a close, I invite you to join together to celebrate this remarkable year.

The year 2024 has been a powerful testament to your humanism, resilience, passion, and unwavering dedication to the university, higher education, and to the art and science of medicine. As an integral part of the SWAG视频 family community, we have come together to extend good will to our students, patients, and communities鈥攖he foundations of a lifelong journey in healing and service from Pomona, California to Lebanon, Oregon, and beyond onto the global healthcare stage.

To our students, we commend, solute, and support you, as you brave and conquer the rigors of academic life with its daily challenges. You have embraced transformative clinical experiences and nurtured the compassion that defines you as truly exceptional clinicians.

We stand 鈥渓oud and proud鈥� at the many SWAG视频鈥檚 2024 accomplishments. We highlight the naming by U.S. News and World Report of SWAG视频鈥檚 COMP/COMP-NW as a Tier 1, Best Graduate Schools for Primary Care, 1 of 15 medical schools nationwide, and the many state and national accolades received by our very own College of Dental Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, College of Graduate Nursing, College of Health Sciences, College of Pharmacy, College of Podiatric Medicine, College of Optometry, and our Institute of Behavioral Health.

Those highly deserving accolades are a tribute to you, our students, faculty, and staff whose tireless energy abounds in alignment with SWAG视频鈥檚 mission to train clinicians who will serve our communities with excellence and that special human touch.

Our country has been plunged into a Health Professionals shortage crisis negatively impacting all regions of our great nation, but particularly devastating our rural communities, and medically underserved areas and populations. Fortunately, SWAG视频 with over 3700 enrolled students, and 21,000 alumni worldwide, is well positioned with its broad band width of colleges, institutes, and programs to represent a compelling solution to this crisis. A heartfelt 鈥渢hank you鈥� to your indefatigable dedication to the proposition that you, through world-class higher education in the medical sciences, are the solution to our national Health Professionals shortage crisis.

Please join me in celebrating every extraordinary milestone, and moment of growth in 2024. Your dedication inspires us all, and your future shines brightly because of the heart, soul, and perseverance you bring to this higher calling. While most of the University will be on Winter Break, please join me in recognizing those who provide necessary services to our employees, patients, and community with their continued work through the break: the Office of International Scholars, Research, Financial Aid, Information Technology, Health Centers, and the Division of External Affairs. As we look forward to 2025, the horizon is aglow with opportunity and promise.
