Labor Day
President’s Office
September 1, 2024
Dear SWAGƵ Community, Colleagues and Friends.
A message of heartfelt gratitude on this Labor Day to all of you, the SWAGƵ community and workforce.
May blessings fill your day as you celebrate this special holiday with family, friends, and loved ones.
The concept of Labor Day was inspired by the desire to commemorate our country’s work force, in the late 19th century.
The first recorded Labor Day was on September 5, 1882, in New York City. States, one by one, began adopting the holiday. Then, on June 28, 1894, Congress passed an Act declaring “Labor Day” an official national holiday to be celebrated on the first Monday in September of each year.
Labor Day honors the American worker and, in my mind, must be accompanied by a well-deserved appreciation to all of those workers who together make our nation’s economy what it is on the global economic stage, of which SWAGƵ is an integral part.
Thank you to all the employees at SWAGƵ who play such a critical and coveted role in aligning with the SWAGƵ mission.
Thank you for all that you do!
I wish you all a blessed and relaxing celebration.
Warmest Regards,
Robin
