Dear SWAGƵ Faculty, Staff, and Students,
I am pleased to announce that SWAGƵ has selected Denise “NeeCee” Cornish, DBA, MBA, to serve as our Senior Vice President, Institutional Shared Services, effective September 4, 2024.
The Senior Vice President for Institutional Shared Services plays a critical role for the Institution, ensuring the seamless operations and integration of essential shared services across the university, promoting efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with the SWAGƵ’s strategic goals.
Dr. Cornish stood out among a strong candidate pool with her experience, knowledge, and diverse background in business administration and computer information systems. As Senior Vice President for Institutional Shared Services, she will report directly to the Office of the President.
Dr. Cornish received a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, a Doctorate in Business Management from Grand Canyon University, and a Chief Operating Officer (COO) certification from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
NeeCee launched her career at SWAGƵ in 2001, at which time she served as a Database Programmer, seamlessly transitioning to various key positions throughout her tenure at the University, and consistently placing on full display her versatility and commitment to professional growth. Examples of such roles include, Project Manager, Director of Information Systems, Senior Director of Enterprise Applications and Databases, Associate Vice President of Information Technology & Deputy COO, Vice President & Deputy COO, and Interim Senior Vice President of the Division of Institutional Shared Services.
In the role of Interim Senior Vice President, NeeCee oversaw with exemplary efficacy a broad array of Departments within the university, including Campus Security, Environmental Health and Safety, Facilities and Physical Plant, Human Resources, Information Technology, Project Management Office, Space Planning and Management, and University Policy Office.
NeeCee’s notable accomplishments include but are not limited to leading the Coronavirus Logistical Support Team during challenging times, and obtaining a Lean Six Sigma black belt, underscoring a dedication to continuous improvement and efficiency in organizational processes.
