First-year College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific and College of Podiatric Medicine students are gifted new iPads, becoming the first o be part of the Digital Doctor Bag iPad project. The specially programmed iPads are provided by gifts from the Heatherington Foundation for Innovation and Education in Health Care and an anonymous donor.

Health & Human Services

All of the programs below are Federal Government loans which are administered through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Per (HHS) criteria, parents’ income must be considered when making an award offer regardless if the student is independent due to marriage, age, or tax filing status.

The Health and Human Service loans listed below are serviced by Educational Computer Systems, Inc. (ECSI) .

  • Loans for Disadvantaged Students

    Provides long-term, five-percent interest loans to eligible pharmacy students and osteopathic medical students from disadvantaged backgrounds, subject to fund availability. For more information please contact a financial aid counselor in the Financial Aid Office.

  • Primary Care Loans

    For eligible osteopathic medical students and subject to availability of funds. Provides long-term, five-percent fixed interest rate, loan amounts vary, depending on financial need and federal allocation. Students must provide income information and sign a contract to practice in primary care until the loan is paid in full.   • Health Professions Student Loan

    For eligible dental, optometry, podiatric and pharmacy students and subject to availability of funds. The HPSL offers a 5% fixed interest rate, and is interest free while attending school and residency. Students must provide income information in order to be considered for the HPSL program.   • Nursing Student Loans

    For eligible nursing students and subject to availability. The Nursing Student Loan program provides long-term, low-interest rate loans to financially needy students. For more information please contact a financial aid counselor in the Financial Aid Office.
