Open Position: Postdoctoral Instructor of Anatomy
The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Instructor of Anatomy position for CHS-Northwest is to perform laboratory instruction in cadaver-based human anatomy, assist the anatomy course director in lecturing and student assessment, and to maintain/develop a research program in collaboration with anatomy faculty. The primary student population served is Doctor of Physical Therapy students, although this position might contribute to anatomy courses for other student populations as required. The Postdoctoral Instructor of Anatomy reports directly to the Chair of DPT-OR, but would collaborate with and be mentored by the full-time anatomy faculty in CHS-Northwest. Potential for teaching and research collaboration would exist beyond CHS-Northwest, for example in Western University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (in California and Oregon). The position is a 12-month, renewable contract. The Postdoctoral Instructor of Anatomy would be expected to devote some time to applying for external research support in collaboration with the faculty mentor.
Open Position: Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor, Pharmacy Practice and Administration
- Responsible for assisting in the establishment of curriculum, subject matter and methods of instruction and those aspects of student life which relate to the educational process.
- Promote, by precept and example, a general atmosphere within the College of respect for knowledge, thought and inquiry.
- Contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of courses and academic programs within the College.
- Responsible for establishing clerkship rotations and serving as a preceptor for Pharm.D. students.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining a clinical practice site that supports clinical clerkship rotations for Pharm.D. students.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining a clinical practice site that supports clinical clerkship rotations for Pharm.D. students.
- Conduct/participate in pharmacy practice research endeavors.
- Support the organizational goals and objectives of the College of Pharmacy and Western University of Health Sciences.
- The faculty member has the right and obligation to participate in scheduled meetings of the General Faculty. Election to the Faculty Senate and election or appointment to committees should be considered a privilege and faculty members are encouraged to share in these responsibilities.
